Intermittent Napping: A GRIT Class WOD That’s Anything But Sleepy!

Hey there, fitness enthusiasts! If you’re looking for a workout that’ll keep you on your toes (and maybe even on the ground for a quick rest), then “Intermittent Napping” is the perfect fit for you! Coach Serra is leading this exciting EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute) WOD at the Academy of Self Defense, and trust us, you won’t want to hit the snooze button on this one.

So, what’s “Intermittent Napping” all about? It’s all about combining bursts of high-intensity exercises with short rest periods – just like intervals of active energy and quick naps (minus the actual sleeping, of course). Here’s how the WOD breaks down:

Minutes 1-3: You’ll start with 10 KB swings, followed by max air squats in the remaining time of the minute. Get those legs moving, and feel the burn!

Minute 4: Rest – time for a quick breather before the next round.

Minutes 5-7: Time to ramp it up! 10 Russian KB swings, and then max push-ups in the remaining time of the minute. Challenge yourself to push for those extra reps!

Minute 8: Another well-deserved rest – you’ve earned it!

Minutes 9-11: Now, we’re adding some variety! 10 X Russian KB swings, and then max wall balls in the remaining time of the minute. Aim high and make every throw count!

Minute 12: Take a moment to catch your breath before the final push.

Minutes 13-15: Almost there! 10 X Russian KB swings, and then it’s time for max boxer ups in the remaining time of the minute. Get ready to unleash your inner fighter!

Minute 16: One last rest – you’ve conquered the bulk of the WOD!

Minutes 17-19: Last but not least, 10 X Russian KB swings, and then it’s time for max ball slams in the remaining time of the minute. Finish strong with those explosive slams!
