Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, this WOD is your chance to prove you’ve got the grit to finish strong.
What’s in Today’s WOD?
Nachos is a descending rep scheme workout (20-16-12-8-4) that combines combat fitness, strength training, and cardio. Here’s the breakdown:
- 100 Straight Punch Buy-In: Start strong with a cardio and striking warm-up.
- Med Ball Push-Ups: Build upper body and core strength with this challenging variation.
- KB Thrusters: Combine strength and cardio for a full-body burn.
- Plank Kickouts: Test your core stability and shoulder endurance.
- KB Swings: Fire up your posterior chain and build explosive power.
- V-Ups: Strengthen your core and improve stability.
- Box Jumps: Improve explosive power and leg strength.
- 100 Straight Punch Buy-Out: Finish strong with another round of striking.
Modifications for All Levels
- Beginners: Scale push-ups to knee push-ups, use lighter weights for KB thrusters and swings, and step up for box jumps.
- Advanced: Increase weight, add reps, or shorten rest periods for an extra challenge.
- At Home: No med ball? Use a basketball or a weighted backpack. No KB? Use a heavy water bottle or backpack.
Tips for Maximizing Your Workout
- Warm-Up: Spend 5-10 minutes on dynamic stretches and light cardio to prep your muscles.
- Pace Yourself: Descending rep schemes are tough, so focus on maintaining good form over speed.
- Stay Hydrated: Keep water nearby to stay energized throughout the workout.
- Cool Down: Stretch your shoulders, hamstrings, and core after the workout to improve recovery.
