HYBRID HUSTLE: The Ultimate Work-Rest Grind with a Burpee Burn Finisher

“Hybrid Hustle” is a heart-thumping, sweat-dripping circuit that blends functional strength, cardio machines, combat combos, and raw grip work. You’ll move through 6 stations using a 40s work / 10s rest format—3 rounds total. Just when you think you’re done, there’s a 3-minute AMRAP finisher that brings the house down.

This one’s about consistent effort, fast transitions, and staying in the fight—mentally and physically.

WOD Format:
⏱ 40 seconds work, 10 seconds rest × 3 rounds

Stations:

  1. Sandbag Front Squats
  2. Wall Balls
  3. Row or Ski ERG
  4. Heavy Bag Combos
  5. KB Renegade Rows
  6. Farmers Carry (distance or back-and-forth)

Finisher:
→ 3-Minute AMRAP:
Broad Jump Burpees + 5 Pushups per rep

Warm-Up Guidance:
Before you get hustling, prime the body with:

  • 2 rounds:
    • 10 air squats
    • 10 arm circles
    • 5 inchworms + push-up
    • 30 seconds jump rope or high knees
    • 10 light medball cleans or KB swings

Finish with 60 seconds of shadowboxing and 2 light broad jumps to prep for the finisher.

At-Home Adaptations:
No rower? Do high-knee running in place or 40s of jumping jacks.
No sandbag? Use a backpack or dumbbell for front squats.
No heavy bag? Shadowbox with intensity.
No kettlebells? Renegade rows can be done with DBs or bodyweight plank shoulder taps.
Limited space? Farmer carry can become a loaded march or 40s of suitcase hold.

Coaching Tips:

  • Front Squats: Keep elbows high, core tight, and drive from the heels.
  • Wall Balls: Use your hips, find a rhythm, and breathe at the top.
  • ERG: Row or ski with intention. Power on the pull, control on the return.
  • Heavy Bag Combos: Choose a combo and stay consistent. Focus on speed and form, not just power.
  • Renegade Rows: Wide feet, strong plank, steady rows—don’t rush it.
  • Farmer Carry: Pick up heavy, walk tall, keep your shoulders locked down.
  • Finisher Tip: Broad jump, drop, push, repeat. Pace early. Finish hard.
