Trip Around the Universe

Trip Around the Universe: A Grounded GRIT Workout with Galactic Burn

No spaceship needed—just a kettlebell, some grit, and a willingness to explore discomfort. Trip Around the Universe is a journey through unilateral strength, core control, and serious stamina. Every move is designed to challenge your balance, your breath, and your burn tolerance. It’s functional, focused, and sneaky tough.

Here’s your full-body itinerary:

  • Suitcase Carry
Start your trip grounded. Hold one KB and walk with posture locked in. Core tight, shoulders square. Left side. Right side. It’s all about control.
  • 50 Romanian Deadlifts
This isn’t a race. Hinge at the hips, glutes loaded, hamstrings stretched. A total posterior chain check-in.
  • 50 Bulgarian Split Squats
The move we love to hate. Back foot elevated, front leg doing all the work. Balance, strength, and grit in one leg at a time.
  • 50 Russian Twists
Sit low, twist controlled. Speed’s not the goal—torque is. Keep your core engaged and that kettlebell working.
  • 50 Russian Steps
High knees with intention. Drive through the ball of the foot and get the heart rate up. Light on your feet, heavy on focus.
  • 50 Arnold Presses
Rotate at the bottom, press overhead with purpose. It’s a shoulder burnout to close out your orbit.

Prep Tips:

  • Warm up your hips and shoulders—those Bulgarians and presses hit deep.
  • Focus on form, not speed. This is volume with purpose.
  • Use moderate weight that forces control but allows consistent reps.

At-Home Options:

No bench? Do Bulgarian split squats with a stair, box, or stack of books.
No kettlebell? Use a dumbbell or any heavy household object with a handle.
Russian twists and steps need zero gear—just space and grit.

Coach’s Insight:

This workout rewards patience and presence. Don’t rush the reps. Feel every hinge, every step, every twist. Your grip will tire, your legs will wobble, and your shoulders will burn. But your mind? It gets stronger with every rep.
