ASD HYROX CREW: Road to Anaheim

Program Terms & Conditions

Effective Dates: August 7, 2026 – December 6, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern enrollment and participation in the ASD HYROX C.R.E.W.: Road to Anaheim program (“Program,” “CREW,” “Installment”) offered by PHN LLC, doing business as Academy of Self Defense (“ASD,” “We,” “Our”), located at 3475 Woodward Avenue, Santa Clara, California 95054. By purchasing, registering for, or participating in this Program, the participant (“You,” “Participant,” “Athlete”) agrees to be bound by these Terms in full.

1. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

ASD HYROX C.R.E.W. is a structured, coached training program designed to prepare athletes for HYROX competition, HYROX simulation events, or general hybrid fitness goals. The “Road to Anaheim” Installment runs for seventeen (17) weeks, from Friday, August 7, 2026 through Saturday, December 6, 2026, culminating around HYROX Anaheim race weekend (December 4–6, 2026).

Participation in this Program does not require registration for, a ticket to, or participation in the HYROX Anaheim race or any other HYROX event. Athletes may join the CREW for training, fitness, and community purposes only, with no obligation to compete in any race.

ASD reserves the right to modify the training calendar, phase structure, class times, assessment dates, simulation event dates, and coaching assignments at any time as needed for operational or programming reasons. ASD will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled participants of material changes.

2. ELIGIBILITY & MEMBERSHIP DEFINITIONS

This Program is open to individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of registration. Participants under the age of 18 must have written parental or legal guardian consent prior to registration and participation.

2.1 Active ASD Member

An “Active ASD Member” is defined as an individual who, at the time of Program enrollment and continuously throughout the full duration of the 13-week or 17-week period purchased, maintains a current, paid, ongoing-billing ASD membership in good standing (including but not limited to Fitness, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, or Unlimited membership tiers) for which the individual pays a recurring monetary fee directly to ASD under a standard ongoing membership billing agreement.

The Active ASD Member designation, and any discounted pricing associated with it, does NOT apply to and expressly excludes individuals whose ASD access is or was obtained through any of the following: complimentary, comped, or promotional memberships not paid for on an ongoing basis; memberships awarded as prizes or rewards through ASD contests, challenges, or competitions; ClassPass or similar third-party fitness aggregator access; Groupon, LivingSocial, or similar voucher or deal-platform redemptions; punch cards, class packs, drop-in passes, or any access method that does not constitute a recurring, ongoing, monetarily paid membership billing relationship directly with ASD; or any membership that is frozen, suspended, delinquent, or in cancellation status at the time of Program enrollment.

Membership status and eligibility for Active ASD Member pricing is verified at ASD’s sole discretion using current account and billing records at the time of purchase and may be re-verified at any point during the Program period. Should a Participant’s qualifying ongoing-billing membership lapse, be cancelled, be frozen, become delinquent, or otherwise cease to meet the definition above at any point during the 13-week or 17-week Program period, ASD reserves the right to reclassify the Participant as a Non-Member for the remainder of the Program and to require payment of the difference between Active ASD Member pricing and Non-ASD Member pricing as a condition of continued participation.

2.2 Non-ASD Member

A “Non-ASD Member” is defined as any individual who does not meet the definition of an Active ASD Member at the time of Program enrollment. Non-ASD Members who enroll in the 17-Week or 13-Week Program will receive a complimentary ASD Unlimited Membership for the duration of the Program period only, granting full access to all ASD class programming, including HYROX, Boot Camp, DEKA, Krav Maga (VKM), and Muay Thai Kickboxing (MTK), as well as Run Club, applicable open gym hours, and Program-specific testing and simulation events, as outlined in Section 4. This complimentary membership automatically expires at the conclusion of the Program period and does not automatically renew. Continued ASD membership following the conclusion of the Program requires separate enrollment and payment under ASD’s then-current membership terms and pricing.

3. PRICING, PAYMENT & NO REFUND POLICY

Current Program pricing is published on the ASD website at the time of purchase and is subject to change without notice for future enrollments. Pricing in effect at the time of a Participant’s purchase is the pricing that applies to that Participant for the duration of the Program.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Program fees, including but not limited to the 17-Week Program fee, 13-Week Program fee, à la carte HCT Testing fee, and à la carte SIM Event fee, are non-refundable under any circumstances once purchased, including but not limited to voluntary withdrawal, injury, illness, relocation, schedule conflict, dissatisfaction with the Program, failure to attend sessions, or cancellation of personal HYROX race registration. No partial refunds, credits, or prorated refunds will be issued for unused weeks, missed sessions, missed assessments, or missed simulation events.

ASD may, at its sole discretion and on a case-by-case basis, offer a credit toward a future ASD program or membership in lieu of a refund. Any such credit is offered as a courtesy and does not constitute a right, obligation, or precedent for future requests.

In the event ASD cancels the Program in its entirety prior to its start date, enrolled Participants will receive a full refund or credit, at ASD’s discretion, for amounts paid.

4. PROGRAM ACCESS, EQUIPMENT & GEAR

4.1 Facility & Class Access

Enrollment in this Program unlocks ASD Unlimited Membership access for the full duration of the 13-week or 17-week period purchased, for both Active ASD Members and Non-ASD Members. This includes participation in scheduled HYROX, Boot Camp, DEKA, Krav Maga (VKM), and Muay Thai Kickboxing (MTK) classes, Run Club sessions, designated open gym windows, HYROX Conditioning Testing (HCT), and simulation events (SIMs), as outlined in the Program calendar in effect at the time of enrollment. For Active ASD Members already enrolled in a membership tier below Unlimited, Program enrollment temporarily upgrades their access to the Unlimited tier for the duration of the Program period only, after which their membership reverts to its prior tier unless separately upgraded. For Non-ASD Members, this Unlimited access is the complimentary membership described in Section 2.2 and expires at the conclusion of the Program period.

Open gym access for self-directed training requires that an ASD instructor or staff member be physically present in the facility during the chosen access window. Participants may not access ASD’s facility, training floor, or equipment at any time an instructor or staff member is not present. ASD reserves the right to modify, restrict, or revoke open gym access privileges at its discretion.

4.2 Personal Gear & Equipment

Program fees cover access to ASD’s in-house HYROX training equipment (including but not limited to SkiErgs, rowers, sleds, wall balls, kettlebells, and dumbbells) for use during scheduled classes, Run Club, open gym windows, assessments, and simulation events. Program fees do NOT include personal gear. Each Participant is solely responsible for providing their own athletic shoes, apparel, gloves, weightlifting belts, hydration equipment, heart rate monitors, GPS watches, race-day attire, or any other personal equipment they choose to use during training or competition. ASD does not provide, rent, or sell personal gear as part of this Program.

5. ASSESSMENTS, SIMULATIONS & THIRD-PARTY TOOLS

The HYROX Conditioning Test (HCT) and resulting HYROX Conditioning Score are administered using the Output Sports Capture App, a third-party platform not owned or operated by ASD. Participants who wish to receive an official HYROX Conditioning Score must create an account with Output Sports and agree to that platform’s separate terms of service and privacy policy. ASD is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or functionality of any third-party application or service used in connection with this Program.

ASD is not responsible or liable for any misinformation, scoring errors, data loss, leaderboard inaccuracies, or other faults originating from Output Sports, any associated leaderboard, or any other third-party application or service used in connection with this Program. In the event such an error or inaccuracy is identified and brought to ASD’s attention, ASD will make a good faith effort to investigate, remedy, and provide corrected or accurate information to the affected Participant in a timely manner; however, ASD cannot guarantee resolution timelines or outcomes that are dependent on a third-party platform beyond ASD’s control.

Simulation Events (SIMs) are designed to approximate HYROX race conditions for training purposes only and are not official HYROX competitions. Results, times, and scores recorded during HCT Testing or SIM Events are for individual training feedback purposes and carry no official standing with HYROX or any sanctioning body.

6. NUTRITION GUIDANCE

Nutrition guidance provided through the ASD Performance Fuel System and Coach Ilya is intended for general educational and motivational purposes only. It is not a substitute for personalized medical, dietary, or clinical nutrition advice. Participants with medical conditions, food allergies, eating disorders, or other health concerns should consult a licensed physician or registered dietitian before making changes to their diet or supplement use. ASD and its coaching staff are not liable for any outcome resulting from a Participant’s voluntary use of general nutrition guidance provided through this Program.

7. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Participation in this Program involves strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to running, weightlifting, sled pushing and pulling, ergometer use (rowing and skiing machines), plyometric movements, and high-intensity interval training. Such activity carries inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle strain, joint injury, cardiovascular strain, dehydration, exhaustion, and in rare instances, serious injury or death.

Each Participant voluntarily assumes all risks of injury, illness, or death that may result from participation in this Program, whether occurring during scheduled classes, Run Club, open gym access, HCT Testing, SIM Events, or any other Program-related activity. ASD strongly recommends that all Participants consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning this Program and disclose any relevant medical conditions to ASD coaching staff prior to participation.

8. RELEASE & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, each Participant, on behalf of themselves and their heirs, executors, and assigns, releases, waives, discharges, and holds harmless PHN LLC, dba Academy of Self Defense, its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, coaching staff, and agents (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, actions, or liability for injury, illness, death, property damage, or other loss arising out of or in any way connected with participation in this Program, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Released Parties.

This release applies to all Program-related activities, including those occurring at ASD’s facility, at off-site SIM Events or race venues, or during any self-directed open gym access. Nothing in this section is intended to waive any rights or protections that cannot be waived under applicable California law.

9. CODE OF CONDUCT

Participants are expected to treat ASD coaching staff, fellow athletes, and facility property with respect. ASD reserves the right to remove any Participant from the Program without refund for conduct that is abusive, unsafe, disruptive, fraudulent (including but not limited to misrepresentation of membership status to obtain discounted pricing), or otherwise contrary to the spirit of the Program, as determined at ASD’s sole discretion.

10. PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE

ASD may photograph or video record Program activities, including classes, assessments, and SIM Events, for use in marketing, social media, and promotional materials. By participating in this Program, Participants consent to such use unless they notify ASD in writing prior to the start of the Program that they decline to be photographed or recorded.

11. GENERAL CONDITIONS

ASD reserves the right to cancel, suspend, modify, or reschedule any portion of the Program at any time for reasons including but not limited to low enrollment, instructor availability, facility issues, weather, or other circumstances beyond ASD’s reasonable control. ASD will make reasonable efforts to notify Participants of material changes but is not obligated to provide compensation for changes to the Program calendar, format, or staffing.

These Terms, along with ASD’s standard Membership Terms and Cancellation Policy (where applicable to Non-Members receiving complimentary membership under Section 2.2), together constitute the entire agreement between the Participant and ASD with respect to this Program and supersede any prior oral or written understanding.

12. GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTES

These Terms and the Program are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to this Program shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California. Participants consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, all disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis, and Participants waive any right to bring or participate in any class action, consolidated, or representative proceeding related to this Program.

13. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By purchasing, registering for, checking the agreement box at checkout, or otherwise participating in the ASD HYROX C.R.E.W.: Road to Anaheim Program, the Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in full.

Academy of Self Defense recommends review by a California-licensed attorney prior to publication to ensure full compliance with applicable California consumer protection, contract, and membership laws.
